Salt Lake City, Utah - January 8, 2001 - Rubicon Medical Inc., a developer and manufacturer of medical devices and products, today unveiled at the Medical Design and Manufacturing (MD&M) West show a new line of precision catheter tipping and molding equipment, Cath-Pro I and Cath-Pro II.
Cath-Pro's unique design offers flexibility while producing very high yields at top quality standards. Cath-Pro, which can weld, form, or tip any thermo-plastic material can heat to a temperature of 450 degrees in less than one second. With a stepping motor drive that creates consistency and precision, the Cath-Pro II is ideally suited for tight tolerance product requirements. The equipment's controls allow a user to run multiple projects utilizing one machine. Changeover from one project to another is a simple one-step process.
Rubicon Medical also offers custom OEM catheter tipping and forming using its Cath-Pro line of machines. The Company has to date provided its OEM tipping and forming services to several leading OEM medical manufacturing clients such as Abbott Laboratories, CR Bard, Medtronic, and Merit Medical Systems.
"We have spent the past year preparing our Cath-Pro proprietary equipment line for large scale use by OEMs who wish to manufacture in-house. The addition of the Cath-Pro line provides us with arguably the most advanced machine of its kind in the market. Here at the MD&M West show we anticipate a very enthusiastic response to both our equipment line and our ongoing OEM services," commented Mr. Richard J. Linder, President and CEO of Rubicon Medical.
