The UN group, which is spearheading the drive to pre-position food in the war-ravaged country before winter sets in, said a Russian Ilyushin cargo plane left Quetta carrying 45 tonnes of aid. gulf-daily-news.com It's pretty clear that one of the strategies being used here is to make sure that the areas of Afghanistan that are friendly to the US are well fed.
