RE:"I might point out that these things have been available on Intel boards for years.
But I know... the nForce is supposed to be better, right?"

The nForce onboard video will get you better than 60-70 fps in Q3. How good is Intels built in video solutions?
Dig deep, you will see.

The nForce audio is also very good...much better than other onboard audio.

I suspect nForce had a touch of Timna disease and it took a little longer to get everything to work. At least they weren't stupid like Intel and tried to put the CPU on the same chip...man that was dumb. I saw the demise of Timmy a year out...
Also remember that when the first benches of the nForce came out there was no KT-266A which significantly increased performance...so the KT-266A stole some nForce thunder...
Still the options for Athlons is very good and about to get even better.
