(Nasdaq: SUNW - news) today submitted results for the SPECjbb2000 benchmark, using the Sun Fire(TM) 6800 Midframe server and the Solaris(TM) 8 Operating Environment, achieving 174,658 operations per second, Sun's Midframe server beats IBM's fully configured high-end p690 (Regatta) system performance of 169,794. Based on the benchmark configuration list prices, the Sun Fire 6800 server has 31 percent better price performance than the IBM p690/HPC.
