searchnetworking.techtarget.com A server can have what is called a "static IP address", which means unlike your cable modem, which only has to be reset with the little button on the back to find a new gateway, a static IP address does not change. RR changed the static IP address without telling anyone, which would be like boarding up the front door of your house and putting the door on the side of the building and not telling you. No way into the house. You can check your keys forever and you still won't find the door. Time Warner owns Roadrunner. Two years ago I didn't know squat about any of this, and now I know a little bit, which makes me dangerous.
