Ken: MCDY, LMST, DIMD, AURA, PNCL, etc, have been perpetrators of that scheme, and their shareholders (not management) have paid dearly.
Re CMPT, I don't think the X-ISP market is harder to do if the Co. is willing to spend the Sales $$ to get the business. Marketing is clearly willing to support the effort, while also supporting the charge into the larger account business: auto-parts, Home Depot-types, multi-outlet auto-repair shop businesses, and so forth. These businesses are already customers of Cisco/Bay/3Com so they are a natural for CMPT.
