Thinking about cleaning keyboards here is an interesting story I got in e-mail -

"I worked as a project engineer at Key Tronic for several years. Shortly after coming aboard I had occasion to visit the keyboard repair center. I was surprised to notice two very ordinary stand alone dishwashers there and joked with one of the girls doing repair work that they must have a lot of dirty lunch dishes. She said, "No, we actually use them to clean keyboards that are returned for repairs." They used ordinary city water, which in Spokane is moderately hard, with a small amount of Joy dish soap. Very often, she said, that was all the "repair" the keyboards needed. They took the keyboards apart and washed everything in the dishwasher at a low heat setting--the PC board, the plastic, etc, then let them dry for several days before testing them and fixing any other problems they might have."
