As a resident of Kentucky, I laugh when these little cities swear in new police officers on televised city council meetings on community access cable TV. The officers must declare they have never engaged in a duel. That's still part of the oath of office.

The funniest Kentucky gun law in recent years? When the General Assembly made it legal for a preacher to strap a .44 pistol to his side while delivering a sermon in church. Lord knows, every preacher needs to be armed in church these days.

You might have the fishing law backwards. The Ohio River ... up to about 10 feet or so from the Indiana shore ... is part of Kentucky. There was some flap over fishing licenses about 15 years ago, but I don't recall reading anything about it recently.

Re: "Has Flynt ever chased down a Democratic lawmaker?"

Not to my knowledge. Does that make him a hypocrite? No.

Re rake vs. firearm: Would a leaf blower be OK if a homeowner lacks a rake?
