you are not wrong. unclewest may be thinking the BLU-82 is an improvement (ahem!) over the BLU-109 which is a smaller 2,000 lb. bomb. it is not however, new. the BLU-82 was actually used in vietnam and in desert storm. the BLU-82 does as much for psy-ops as it does for physical damage, scaring the hell out the enemy and has probably been responsible for more defectors than any other weapon. war is not pretty. too bad they didn't consider that before they killed innocent civilians in washington and new york.
