Tony, Re: [0.13 micron] Sanders said they are not in production, expect to see first silicon this quarter.

You must have misunderstood Jerry here. Dirk said earlier that AMD already has working samples of Thoroughbred (0.13 micron Palomino) and that they plan to ship engineering samples to OEM customers this quarter. Production shipments will start in Q1, targeting mobiles first. Desktop will follow in Q2.

AMD doesn't have first silicon on Clawhammer yet (maybe that's what you mean) but they expect to get it this quarter. "Real" samples will be available in the first half of next year. If you apply the rule of thumb that between first silicon and production shipments is at least a year, you can expect Clawhammer in very late '02 at best.

BTW, overall I think the conference was quite positive on technology but disappointing on financials. Many had hoped (including me) that AMD would already turn back to profitability this quarter. Also it's disappointing that flash is doing so poorly while other flash manufacturers (e.g. SSTI) see growth this quarter.
