all efforts to apprehend these offenders has in the past failed miserably. thousands of our citizens have been killed unmercifully and we have gathered the facts (not conjecture) and presented them to all civilized nations and garnered their support in this military operation. has bin laden or the taliban made any effort to prove their innocence? not hardly. if i was innocent and someone came at me with daisy cutters and the like i damn sure would be trying to prove my innocence and complying with my opponent in any way i could, not celebrating in the streets and threatening more violence. the rules of this engagement were stated upfront before any bombing started. these people are animals and we don't try to reason with dangerous animals, we put them down. i don't have a problem with this. it's all part of life and living the best we know how. no it's not nirvana. it's not pretty and it's not the higher ideal we would all like to strive for but it is what we can do, with what we have, to protect the liberty and security of our country from the animals that threaten us. this is war. i don't believe that our government is confusing this war with any other war. i don't think calling it a war has much bearing on the military actions that are ongoing anymore than all the wasted rhetoric in the 60's about how vietnam wasn't a war either, it was a military offensive or some such b.s.. call it what you like, i call it war.
