A day before President Gen Pervez Musharraf left for his several-nation tour, President George Bush had a telephonic talk with him to discuss latest developments relating to Afghanistan especially the US-led military campaign. This was the fourth telephonic conversation between Musharraf and Bush after the September 11 terror attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. The US President thanked his Pakistani counterpart for his government's support to the war against terrorism and the cooperation that it has extended in the field of intelligence sharing, use of its air space and logistics, the official said. He said that Musharraf reiterated his assertion that the military campaign should be short, targeted and focused and should not go into the holy month of Ramazan.
