You have to edit the registry to do it manually which I wouldn't suggest to anyone not at ease with doing so. You can render your computer unbootable. You can handle adding or eliminating new file types with a software tweaking program such as Xteq. Here's a screenshot of what you are asking to do. I'm sure there are plenty of programs out there...this is just the one I use.
