Everyday heros...
I just watched the series of new ads filmed to promote tourism to New York. All of the ads are fantastic! The ads are part of a series called The New York Miracle. IMO, all of those involved in this effort to help the city of New York, as well as to help all of us return to a somewhat "normal life" deserve our respect.
A Will Rogers quote, "We can't all be heroes because someone has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by."
I'm clapping! Great ads, and IMO a heroic effort to make a difference and help to make a positive change to the tourism business.

"CELEBS DRAFTED FOR NYC TOURISM ADS Pro Bono Effort From BBDO Touts 'New York Miracle' November 05, 2001
By David Goetzl
NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- The New York mayor's office and Omnicom Group's BBDO Worldwide are set to use a string of the city's celebrity icons in a national TV campaign to boost tourism in the city, a person familiar with the matter said.
The city will seek donated ad time from national broadcast and cable TV networks.
One ad stars Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal together and was directed by Barry Levinson. Other spots feature, separately, Woody Allen, Yogi Berra and Barbara Walters, among others.
Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has already appeared in the campaign's initial spot, is expected to also play an additional role. The tagline is "The New York miracle; come be a part of it."
The effort is being done pro bono by BBDO. The Mayor's spokeswoman, Sunny Mindel, did not return a call seeking comment." |
