Globe says Air Canada jumps on news of rival's woes Fri 9 Nov 2001 The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Nov. 9, edition that Air Canada edged ahead 38 cents to $3.62 on the Toronto Stock Exchange Thursday. The Globe's Market Movers column reports that shares of Air Canada reached their highest level in more than a month Thursday, climbing almost 12 per cent. Investors pushed the Montreal-based carrier's stock higher after competitor Canada 3000 Inc. said it was seeking protection from creditors. Air Canada stock has more than doubled since a low of $1.80 on Oct. 19.
