re: $6 Billion?

>> NextWave Back in Court

Cellular News
November 8, 2001

At a court hearing yesterday, NextWave said that it had reached an agreement with the USA government over its ownership of radio spectrum licenses.

NextWave lawyer Deborah Schrier-Rape did not tell the court what the terms of the settlement are, she did later say that NextWave expects to receive US$6 billion from the settlement, higher than the widely expected US$5 billion.

The settlement requires the approval of the US Congress, as well as US Bankruptcy Judge, Adlai S. Hardin Jr. NextWave expects to sign the settlement today and file a new plan to emerge from bankruptcy in January. The final action should take place by next April.
