I have done this with numerous other large companies and with the notable exception of MDR it has usually worked out well except when I was too impatient to wait.

JQ, curious as to when you had this bad experience with MDR. Was it prior to the first rumors of bankruptcy in Oct 99? It has had nine runs averaging 50% since then and has been a great trader during the BK period. Buying MDR in single-digits and selling in double-digits has been my most successful investment in a single stock, four times better than no. 2 (Intel). Lots of others (KEG and HAL come to mind) I can never find the right timing while others do very well in them. Different stocks for different folks, I guess.
