Hi marcos,

Re: ..... if they can knock our industry out of the game and at the same time compel a fire sale of crown land, they'll be the only buyers with significant capital, and i've always wondered if this wasn't maybe their ultimate goal ...

This same sort of logic has been postulated by some who saw the Thai baht ravaged in the summer of 1997, by the forex market. Many shakily financed** "see-through" skyscrapers in downtown Bangkok ended up in the hands of U.S. financiers, bought at severe discount in distress sales by the year 2000. In time for the newly found tenants of these buildings to start up the cash flow out of Thailand. There does seem to be a pattern. To a conspiracy theorist....

**once the baht was devalued by 50% by speculators, with scant evidence that it was incorrectly valued to begin with.

Have a great weekend, Ray
