Raymundo,

Always fascinated to hear your unique view on matters.-g-

Great Britain went broke trying to fight too many imperial wars and skirmishes on distant shores.

Completely wrong I am afraid. The Victorians (height of British Empire) fought wars on the cheap. They were small nasty wars too. The empire builders (all dead long time ago) were clear that "the country was going to the dogs" for various wussie attitudes and lifestyles that were made part of British Life. The last outpost of the British Empire Builders was Cheltenham, Glos. and their last parting shots were in the form of letters to the Telegraph and the Times. The problems they identified as having "gawn to the dogs"

(1) Ending of slavery. The next 100 yrs proved these cozy liberal ideas were the makings of the end of the Empire.
(2) Stoopit idea that human beings were equal. One Englishman was worth at least 10 foreigners.
(3) Giving women the vote.
(4) Allowing suckers an even break (example..Northern Ireland and uneven division)
(5) Some stoopit idea that the working classes in the UK had some sort of "rights". They should have realized they were lucky enough just to be born in the right country.

I lived in Cheltenham Glos for several yrs btw. Nice town, excellent beer -g-

Your math is also wrong.

10 bales of hay = I less USA soldier killed = 1000 left wing loonies allowed to live and practice liberal politics in a free society.-g-

Let me finish with a quote from a famous Irishman who helped restore monarchy to Europe.. Wellington..

.."There", he said, pointing at the soldier, "it all depends on that article if we do the business or not. Give me enough of it and I am sure"

You must admit that Afghanistan was a happier country under the Afghan Monarchy.

Give Afghan horses their hay. It's the least we could do.
