John,
AMD folks, I'm outta here. The value of these threads is that information, opinions and perspective are always filtered through the opinions of other posters. By eliminating very informed people (filters), you allow false statements, unreliable opinions and wacky perspectives to go unchallenged. The value of the thread as a tool to form an accurate opinion is greatly diminished.
Some other Intel folks have already left, I suspect other won't post as often, or at all. You have built yourselves a closed clubhouse where one perspective will dominate, and the chances of coming to an incorrect conclusion are greatly amplified. So this thread loses value, in fact can become very misleading.
As of this weekend, the AMD thread is unbookmarked, at least for me. If I want to hear a bunch of guys cheer for the home team, I can go to a football game.
All abusive behavior in civilized environments is curtailed by law and law enforcement for the benefit of the non offending majority. It has nothing to do with censorship. You clearly know that Paul was not suspended for his pro-Intel and anti-AMD stance, but for his persistent violation of the rules (law). Mani simply did his duty to enforce the clearly stated rules for the benefit of the thread. If you want anarchy, you can find it in many other places. The civilized members of this thread come here to avoid it.
Bye-bye.
