John, I agree the stocks will turn before the fundies do, but the chip stocks have had 3 significant rallies in the last year without the sector improving one bit. Anybody who chased these rallies was left holding a bag of s___. If there is no recover in chips until 2003 (see today's Barron's) then we are going to see more empty rallies. On the buyout side, what would make MTSN attractive? Presently, there is way too much capacity in the sector. Buyouts are more likely at the top of the cycle.

I don't know how things are going in the Richmond area, but things are getting much worse in the DC area now. Restaurants are now empty and the sacred real estate market (both commercial and residental) is tanking. I no longer see a recovery just around the corner. Phil
