The UMC process, for which AMD is currently in production with, should provide AMD with high performing Thoroughbreds in Q1:

I think you are sadly mistaken if you think AMD is going to get high performance processors from an ASIC vendor and it won't likely be soon or cheap. Then there's also that little problem of customers.
