Raymond, Bill Clinton illegally signed trade restrictions on sheep meat produced by New Zealand [only a couple of years ago]. The WTO has agreed that NZ is right and the USA was breaking the rules.

The interest is more professed than real.

New Zealand has been seeking a free trade agreement with the USA, but something about the New Zealand economy must be scary for American politicians. I guess Team New Zealand won the America's Cup and Americans think that America can't compete with New Zealand economically either.
