And it gets worse, imo, more from Bush ~

He warned that if the opposition entered Kabul, it might endanger hopes for a future broad-based government for the country.

But, again, if the opposition who is on the ground does not enter Kabul, who will?

This is nuts, and rediculous, and.... disingenuous.

How will this broad-based government have a chance to get into power? Will Pakistan, who is so concerned that non-Pushtan's aren't "in power" send troops to take power from the Taliban and install non-Taliban Pushtans? And how and why would we stop the Alliance, especially with winter coming and the need for access to cities to bring food? And if our goal is what the military says it is, to bring down not only Bin Ladin but the Taliban, how could we stop the Alliance from doing the ground work unless we do it ourselves?

Stay out of Kabul because..... we will do what? Is there a what? Are there ground troops to take the city within the week in place and ready? If not... then let them do the work and bring in the aid and security.
