The Roman Catholic Church should be respected for its uncompromising stands on what is right and what is wrong. All of the religions that splintered off from Catholicism did so because they could not, would not, accept some certain teaching of the RC Church. You have to admire a church that stands for principle, whether or not it is popular with the times or supported by the majority of members.

The Catholic Church simply condemns the killing of innocents, and accepts no rationales for justifying it under any circumstances. It is an important distinction that the Church condemns the act of abortion, and does not condemn the person choosing that option. Indeed, the Church provides extensive, compassionate counseling for women who have had abortions. We all choose at times to do things we know are morally wrong, for a variety of reasons. However, we have no right to demand that the Catholic Church or any other institution abandon its principles of right and wrong simply to relieve us of responsibility for the choices we make.

Don't we admire individuals who stand up for principles they believe in, and refuse to compromise or bow to the pressure of popular opinion? Would anyone argue with the morality of the principle of not killing innocents?
