I have a tough time believing Jordan will commit many troops to a peace-keeping mission in Afghanistan.

Not unless there is a diminishment of hostilities on the West Bank. They just pulled back 1,800 of them from some peace-keeping mission earlier this years out of fear of domestic uprisings.

Btw, as a matter of sheer trivia, I was just doing a net query on bullets expended per casualty in Vietnam, and found this VERY interesting tid-bit for those of us who are caught in the timeless infantry vs armor rivalry..

US Army Tankers KIA in Vietnam = 725 (equals 27% of all tankers ever assigned to Vietnam)

Which also yields the highest loss-rate for any MOS was 11E (Armor Crewman) 27% KIA...

rjsmith.com

Imagine that... 27% of all Armor Crewmen who served in Vietnam, wound up as KIA's...

Those are some MIGHTY SLIM odds.....
