Onward to Kabul. With so many world leaders (and particularly those Islamic countries) preference to do nothing but lip service, this push by opposition warlords is probably the much better option. This may result in quicker conclusion to the operation, and the reconstruction/rebuilding process can start sooner.

I doubt the above is a much better option very much but would appreciate Ike chiming in ...

The Northern Alliance is truly no better than the Taleban, proven by history. They are despised by the Pashtun in the South and are not wanted in Kabul. They are seen by many Pashtun as the greater of two evils, not the lesser.

If they decide against better judgement to move on Kabul, they will most likely only push the Pashtun in the south to support the Taleban. They also will lose any U.S. backing they may have enjoyed to this point.

I would suggest that if the N.A. wants any say in Afghanistan's future government, they listen to the advice being given to them by President Bush very closely.

Peace .... JB
