I don't mean to make you defensive here, Doug. I'm struck though, by your assertion that television-watching in itself contributes to an unrealistic worldview. There's not much data in the psychological literature, as far as I know, that supports your view.

Follwing your line of argument, bin Laden, who very likely has no access to television in his cave, has a better grip on reality than, say, George Bush. It doesn't make sense to me.
