RE: Diesel

For a while I owned a Peugeot diesel a good many years ago. It was built like a tank, sustained little damage in a head-on collision that destroyed the Chevrolet that hit it, and with all that weight, got 27 mpg in stop and go driving in town. it weighed twice as much as the tercel I now drive, which on gasoline gets not too much more mpg.(In the city).

I guess in Europe right now there are all sorts of incentives to own diesels, and the technology is continually improved.
