Signal Technology Names Dan Paulson as Vice President, Mobile Appliance Sales and Marketing
DANVERS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 2001--Signal Technology Corporation (Nasdaq: STCO), a leading provider of electronics and power management products for wireless communications in the commercial, defense and space markets, today announced that Dan Paulson has joined the Company as vice president, mobile appliance sales and marketing.
Paulson, 47, will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies related to marketing, business development and customer partnerships in support of Signal's entry into the market for advanced semiconductor modules for next-generation mobile phones and wireless appliances. He reports to Dr. James G. Oakes, Signal's vice president, cellular/PCS/wireless data products.
Signal's mobile appliance initiative centers on technology and manufacturing agreements with Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) and Vitesse Semiconductor Corporation (Nasdaq: VTSS). Under a 10-year license, Signal is using Northrop Grumman's GaAs HBT and PHEMT semiconductor technologies to produce advanced custom RF integrated circuits and modules for wireless handsets and mobile appliances. Vitesse is enhancing the Northrop Grumman technology by adding its silicon-like copper interconnect process technology to mass produce Signal's MMIC designs on their world-renowned 6-inch GaAs wafer fab line.

Paulson has more than 14 years of direct sales and sales management experience in the wireless phone business. Most recently, he was senior vice president of sales, marketing and business development at RangeStar Wireless. Paulson's prior background includes more than five years in sales management at Nokia Mobile Phones and seven years at MobileComm, a BellSouth company. He holds an MBA from California State University and a BS in Accounting and Finance from the University of Utah. |
