One may discuss the shortcomings of current and prior policy in a reasoned manner.

I specifically stated yesterday that this is not the place to bash former Presidents: not Reagan, nor Bush, nor Carter, nor Clinton, nor political leadership in general.


Do you see the first line?

- I said discussing previous Presidents' policies would be just fine.

Did I ever say Clinton was out of bounds?

- NO.

Do you understand the meaning of "bash" as we all use it?

- Yes.

Here, try this guideline: If this is the sort of thing you would see discussed in FA? Yes? Then it is OK.

That may be a bit too narrow but do you get my point?
