UMC's 130 micron process has a core voltage of 1.2 volts and likely can go to 1 volt or less with some tweaking. If AMD can get some chips at 1-1.2GHz and at 1-1.2 volts instead of 1.4 volts, that can cut the power consumption quite a bit.< Perhaps AMD will be shifting mobile Athlon4, mobile Duron, and low speed Athlon MP for high density servers to UMC. My guess is that the first processor out of UMC will be a mobile Appaloosa.
