Think of it this way, when INSP expands parts of its business, it, in effect, adds value down the whole INSP chain of product offerings. The effect, is thus, compounded.

As INSP becomes broader and more stable in its reach, breadth, content offerings....then the product it sells to other companies increases in value also.

For INSP, it is about distribution channels, tools to assist in the transaction of business space. It is not about the content space per se, but the aggregation of content from various sources and sending to various destinations...

In a complicated three-way deal that must be approved by a bankruptcy court judge, the Excite portal will wind up in the hands of iWon, a rival that uses contests to draw Web traffic. Search technology company InfoSpace, which is making the actual $10 million bid, will hand over the assets to iWon and then manage search and directory services on the new Excite site, according to an InfoSpace spokesman.
