He expects telephone companies to begin boosting spending on regional optical fiber networks again in 6-12 months, as ILECs face bottlenecks after recently reducing spending on additional capacity. On a less positive note, CEO expects excess capacity in the long haul market to remain overbuilt for 5-6 yrs. 11:19 ET Kopin (KOPN) 14.75 +0.66 (+4.7%): Experiencing an impressive uptick following announcement this morning that its color microdisplay is featured as the imaging device in Navitrak International Digital Navigation Assistant unveiled today at COMDEX. Navitrak is a provider of advanced GPS-based navigation, mapping and tracking solutions.
