groups in the world that specializes in this field.They perform more than 1200 interven-
tional and diagnostic procedures per year in Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease.

American Heart Association Cerebrovascular and Stroke Council;Executive Council of the

Barry T.Katzen,M.D.,FACR,FACC
Barry T.Katzen,M.D.,is the founder and Medical Director of Miami Cardiac &ascular
Institute,an affiliate of Baptist Health Systems of South Florida.He is Professor of Clinical
Radiology at the University of Miami School of Medicine.
Dr.Katzen was born in Miami and went to the University of Miami School of Medicine.
After completing a medical internship,he proceeded to a radiology residency at the New
York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center.He was awarded a Fellowship in Cardiovascular
Radiology at St.incent ’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York,where he ultimately
became Chief of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology.
