Dr.Katzen ’s numerous hospital and university appointments include Director of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology and Director of the Non-invasive ascular Laboratory at the Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria,irginia.While in practice in the Washington,D.C.area,he was also a consultant to the National Institutes of Health, Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.He was active clinical faculty at George Washington University Medical School. In 1987 Dr.Katzen moved to Miami to found what was then called Miami ascular Institute at Baptist Hospital.After developing a unique multidisciplinary infrastructure, Baptist Hospital proceeded with the development of a $20 million free-standing facility attached to the main hospital,of which he currently serves as Medical Director. Dr.Katzen has co-authored two text books in interventional medicine,and has authored numerous peer reviewed scientific publications.He is currently the editor-in-chief of Techniques in ascular and Interventional Radiology and participates on the editorial boards and is reviewer for numerous scientific journals.Additionally,he has worked hard to assist the development of innovative procedures in various countries including Singapore,Thailand,Japan,and Korea,and has actively participated with European Interventional Societies in bringing the discipline of vascular and interventional radiolo- gy forward.Dr.Katzen,along with his colleagues,created the Endovascular Forum,an interactive web site for physicians interested in circulatory diseases. He has served as Chairman of the American Heart Association ’s Council of Cardiovascular Radiology.Additionally,he is a past President of the Society of Cardiovascular and interventional Radiology,and in that role actively participated in assisting the organization of European Interventional Radiologists.Dr.Katzen has been awarded Fellowship in the American College of Radiology,as well as the SCVIR,and he is a member of many Surgical Societies. Dr.Katzen graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine.He was recently honored with the Gold Medal of The Alumni Association,and entered into the "Hall of Fame"of the Medical School,only the fourth such honoree in Medical School history. William A.Gray,M.D. Dr.Gray is an Interventional Cardiologist and Director of Endovascular Care for the Swedish Heart Institute in Seattle,Washington.He is also a Principal Partner with First Hill Cardiology,Swedish Medical Center/First Hill Campus in Seattle.Dr.Gray is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine,Cardiology,and Interventional Cardiology. Dr.Gray earned his MD degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania.His postgraduate training included an internship and resi- dency in Internal Medicine at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island,where he also completed a clinical/research fellowship in Cardiology and an interventional fellowship in Cardiology.Prior to joining the Swedish Heart Institute, Dr.Gray had been vice-chair of the Cardiology division at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque,New Mexico and a founding member of the Heart Hospital of New Mexico. Dr.Gray has been principal investigator for numerous clinical and commercial trials,and is routinely asked to speak at national and international conferences. |
