"On the parallel, SGI is developing/selling system based on Intel's Itanium/Linux. However, the revenue from that is currently mininial. Will it take off? Who knows." It's true that Itanium is a niche product right now, with markets that are only just beginning to be realized, but infrastructure is growing every day, and there are plenty of new designs on the roadmap. I don't expect all the employees to be enthusiastic about Itanium's future, but in their position, they might as well give it the benefit of the doubt. wanna_bmw
