Seems like you are ignoring the tanks, artillery, etc. that were knocked out during the bombing. You are also ignoring the many military experts ex-generals, etc. who claim the carpet bombing is effective and and terrorizes the enemy. Lastly, while I have never been in Combat, I have a great interest in WWII and I have talked to many Vets who tell me that when you are hunkered down in that foxhole with artillery dropping all around you, you for sure are scared and it does demoralize you.
