John, guess the trash talk coming from the Taliban was just that, trash talk. Wasn't it just a week ago that the Taliban was considered "defiant" even in the face of bombing?

Not entirely surprising really. The Taliban was fighting back they only way they could: with propaganda. If they could hold out long enough for international sentiment to turn steadfastly against the U.S., they could hold onto power. Looks like airstrikes may actually end before Ramadan as well.

Unfortunately the rapid advance of the N. Alliance causes as many problems as it solves. The situation on the ground is still very much in flux as well. Any new government will have to include the Pashtun tribes as well, or it's doomed to fail.

My question is this: Are Bin Laden and the Taliban big wigs still in Afghanistan, or have they slipped into friendly areas of Pakistan?
