Gaddafy's Son Warns of Another 9/11 Attack
The son of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafy (akaMouamar Khaddafi), has reportedly warned Germany that helping the U.S. in its war on terrorism could result in an attack similar to the destruction of New York City's Twin Towers -- only this time on German soil.
In an interview with the widely read German-language newspaper WELT am SONNTAG, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi said that anger in the Islamic world is "boiling" and that joining the U.S. war effort could put Germany at risk the same way America was on Sept. 11, according to an English translation on the website OnlineFN.net.
"We are amazed that no attacks have yet been carried out on England," Gaddafy Jr. noted, citing the U.S.'s closest ally in the war effort. He then warned somewhat cryptically, "The attacks in the USA were directed against America. That is very, very far from Europe."
"America does not need German military help," Gaddafy Jr. added. "We know Germany as a neutral country, which does not become involved in conflicts. We hope that Germany remains neutral, like Switzerland."
Last week German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder pledged to send 3,900 troops to fight against Afghanistan's Taliban government. Schroeder is expected to win a Parliamentary vote on the question, set for Thursday.
