If I remember correctly, a couple years ago, QLT sold Photophrin to AxcanPharma for cash and some shares of AXP. (TSE)

I think the recent chart is specific to Visudyne and the Medicare/Medicaid announcements re Occult AMD reimbursement plans. Visudyne is Verteporfrin not Photophrin.
