I fear that you may not know how new patents and constant innovation has gotten Q out of the patent expiration trap.

Because in 2016....their main CDMA-ASIC tollgate patents will have been expired for many years

The Q licenses its entire portfolio of patents. Use one, pay for all. If the patents are otherwise desirable, the fact that they expire is irrelevant.

So long as Q can continue to require this deal from its customers, patent expiration dates are not a problem.
