OT For those short who need a lighter moment, I received the following letter from Porsche today regarding my Boxster:

It has come to Porsche's attention that there has been a small number of incidents of avoidable engine fires caused by Boxster drivers dropping lit cigarettes out of the car while driving. These cigarettes have, on some occasions, been sucked into the driver's side engine air intake and, under certain conditions, can start an engine fire. ...

These fires, when they occur, are slow to develop and begin with smoke coming from the engine compartment ... No one has been injured from such incidents ... Nevertheless, we at Porsche want you to know that dropping or throwing cigarettes out of your car places both you and your property at risk ... It is also illegal in most states.

What luck some people have.
