<<Mac Office X users would be surprised to learn that!>>

my apologies to all the mac users that use office for mac. i do not know how much that contributes to msft's profits.

when i purchased my last pc i was thinking about purchasing a imac but ms office for the imac cost about $500 at the time. this was about 1/2 of what the entire imac cost. also, the only reason i bought a pc (i.e. gateway) was because i needed my word and excel files to be compatible with the companies i do business with. this is what a monopoly does, it restricts choice and i was basically forced to purchase a pc with ms windows and office.

obviously, the doj does not care much about consumer choice in this antitrust case. i can only hope that open standards becomes prevelant in the future so i can purchase a internet device based on the benefits it provides me and not the features which are forced upon me.

rocky.
