I don't mean to answer for Larry but I have followed his posts for more than 4 years and I can tell you that he is not very proficient at squeezing the last few points out of an uptrend or calling a bottom. Trend following misses big profits that might be gotten by lucky guessers, but it minimizes risk and produces smaller profits that are based on the trend and not the changes in direction. The trend is the friend of Larry's type of trader, not the predictions of bottoms and tops. JMHO.
