"What if the name you pray too is not a valid entity? " For some people, "Nature Spirits" (for example, are the maximum form of the Divine that they can relate to. They work with what God looks like to them. "Why not pray to God himself?" Absolutely, but not everyone is capable of that. They do what they can. "If you believe in God, then praying to the name "God" should not be a problem, right?" No, but as stated above, people can only do what they validly can. "And what about people that do not believe in God? Then prayer (as you say you might say, surrender) can not be the answer, right?" Prayer is not going to be used by people who have no conscious connection with God. "And what about the people that believe in God but do not choose the option of prayer?" You try and help them understand their resistance to Prayer; also to understand the effectiveness of Prayer; also to understand the importance of being of service to one's fellow man, through Prayer.
