Still don't think it was the bombing, but I am very pleased with the rout of the Taliban just the same.

However, I don't think the war is anything close to being over, even if the Taliban are completely defeated. I think it prudent to keep in mind that The Taliban are not the primary enemy, they have just been stupid enough to closely associate with enough of the terrorists to insure their own destruction. I see more difficult battles ahead in the south. I listened to Secretary Rumsfeld today, and he and I are in agreement there. He thinks there are 3 possible outcomes from here: 1) massive Taliban defections [he thinks this unlikely and I agree]; 2) Taliban regrouping and drawing a line in the sand in their home turf of Kandehar and the south; 3) Taliban heading for the hills and holing up deep. These last two possibilities spell much greater difficulties ahead, of course.
