The plot thickens:

NTSB: Flight 587 data recorder damaged

cnn.com

P.S. From where I sit, if it's terrorism, then the whole security system is suspect. If it's a mechanical failure, the airlines are suspect anyways. So for them to spin an accident as "good" is preposterous in my book. Why not plug the gaping holes in the system and stop putting our lives at risk by selling us a bill of goods?

Answer: The airlines are so close to illiquidity, any further loss of passengers will shut them down quick (what will that do the the "new bull market"?). Then what? We need raise the prices to do things right.
