Tench, ok I know you guys are pretty intelligent. Why are we having these stupid arguments when all the answers are known to all of us? Yes, the P3 has a SLIGHTLY longer pipeline than the Athlon. Not longer enough to give it an edge in frequency. The P4 has DOUBLE the pipeline length compared to the Athlon and surprise, surprise it clocked twice that of the Aluminum P3 and Aluminum Athlon. Before you get going, I know there is no direct ratio to calculate Mhz from the number of pipelines but let's stop here. According to your argument ( and Paul's ) why doesn't the P3 make it to 2Ghz if the aluminum process is so GOOD?
