I have about a dozen threads bookmarked, and personally don't find the number of threads to be a problem. I like FiloF's thread. I'm not willing to recommend that people post off-topic on the original AMAT thread because I think that would be a disservice to people looking for significant investment info and ideas, who don't want to hunt for needles in the haystack every time an off-topic subject heats up. People will do what they want anyway. Trying to control what is posted where is probably a waste of time. I started the no-politics thread a year ago when the presidential election was the hot issue. At the time it didn't catch on, but it did seem to "scare" people into staying more on-topic for a while. I thought it was dead when Brian started using it again, and if people want to use it or don't want to use it, it's fine with me either way. I scan both StanX's and Brian's news posts, although Brian seems to do a better job of focusing on industry-related news.
